This course will enable care professionals to provide and promote high quality sexual health through increased knowledge and support to young people, in a way that addresses their sexual health and relationship needs.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  2. Understand factors that may result in risky sexual activity
  3. Consider the various sexual activities and potential risks associated with them
  4. Identify the types of common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and blood-borne viruses
  5. Understand what STIs are and possible consequences associated with them
  6. Consider the different types of contraception available
  7. To develop engaging ways of working with young people around sexual health, sexuality, and relationships
